Still broken

While it is nice that the Chrome team is socializing the tab recovery feature, Chrome's lack of warning when closing multiple tabs is still a huge usability problem. Early on, both Firefox and Safari developers went through a phase of fighting the addition of this feature and ultimately, both caved because this feature is good for users and has little downside.

In a world of AJAX applications, simply recovering tabs is not good enough because the page state and any created content is lost and cannot be recovered by reopening the closed URL in a new tab. In addition, the tab recovery does not work in an incognito window. In a browser where tabs are focal, a preemptive warning is needed.

Google, it is time to quit fighting this and either add this to core or at least add the programmatic hooks (cross-platform) that will allow a Chrome extension author to accomplish this.

Man

I saw this for the first time this week. Why wasn't this played on the Superbowl? It was funnier than anything aired.
